Opening up new feedstock opportunities to de-risk the development of advanced sustainable fuels

Following on from successful work being completed in North America on the utilisation of natural gas as a feedstock for liquid fuel production, Sustineri have decided to reconsider the need for gasification as the front end process in our first project - the difficulties experienced by biomass gasification developers in the UK (and elsewhere) was proving a block for progression of our project. The remainder of the process remains identical.

After discussions with our technology providers, prospective CAPEX funder and others in the project team we have concluded that the utilisation of biomethane (with additional volumes of carbon dioxide and green hydrogen) provides a much more palatable pathway for the project. Taking out the need for gasification of solid materials for this first project reduces overall technology risk substantially. Utilising gas that has already been produced and cleaned ready for use simplifies the process.

We have started the initial procurement process for suitable volumes of feedstock gas and are well progressed with a number of key biogas producers in the UK who are interested in providing gas to a lucrative and interesting decarbonisation project.
